Custom Programming Services
Custom software is software that is created for a specific purpose. There are many different languages that a program can be written in, and many different devices that software can be written for. Polytechs specializes in writing custom software for web applications. This means your program can be accessed with any browser or internet-connected device.
Our programs are meant to be "working programs", meaning that they have a business purpose beyond marketing. If you're looking for a flashy website full of graphics and images that is primarily meant to attract customers, then we're probably not the best fit for you. However, if you're looking for a program that gets used every day by you and your staff to help run your business, interact with customers or vendors, collect and store data - then consider our programming services. That's all we do.
Our programs are written in one or more of the following technologies:
- PHP - A widely used open source scripting language
PHP is a popular general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited to web development. Fast and flexible, PHP powers everything from blogs to the most popular websites in the world.
- mySQL - The world's most popular open source database
MySQL is a freely available open source Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) that uses Structured Query Language (SQL). SQL is the most popular language for adding, accessing and managing content in a database. It is most noted for its quick processing, proven reliability, ease and flexibility of use.
- AJAX/jQuery/javascript
AJAX stands for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. AJAX is a technique for creating better, faster, and more interactive web applications. jQuery and JavaScript are used for dynamic content display.
- HTML5/CSS3 - The foundation of web sites
HTML is the standard markup language for creating Web pages. HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets. CSS describes how HTML elements are to be displayed on screen, paper, or in other media.
- MS Access
Microsoft Access is a database management system (DBMS) from Microsoft that combines the relational Microsoft Jet Database Engine with a graphical user interface and software-development tools.
- Google Maps API
Google Maps is a web mapping service developed by Google. It offers satellite imagery, street maps, real-time traffic and more and can be embedded in your application.
- Enhancing or integrating your current software
If you have a legacy program that you've been using, in some cases the program can be moved into a web-based application with your data retained.
